Alex Yale-Loehr, Georgetown, was awarded the ACCHL Championship Tournament MVP.  Alex’s play help lead Georgetown to the Gold Medal in the tournament, including a hat trick against Duke.  Congratulations Alex!

WELCOME TO THE 17^TH ANNUAL ACCHL CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT

The ACCHL 2012 Championship Tournament promises to be an exciting celebration marking the close of an outstanding 2011/2012 season for our member clubs: Duke, University of North Carolina, North Carolina State, University of Virginia, University of Maryland, The George Washington University and Georgetown University. The ACCHL is dedicated to promoting the growth of ACHA D2 level collegiate ice hockey in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeastern regions of the U.S. in harmony with the high academic standards that its member schools maintain.

This year’s outstanding League contests brought great entertainment and hard fought competition to a growing and enthusiastic fan base. Please join me in saluting the students and coaches whose countless hours of dedication, practice, planning and sacrifice have delivered another season of fast paced and exciting college hockey to your door step. On behalf of everyone connected with the ACCHL, I would like to express my appreciation to members of the academic and local communities for encouraging our student athletes through their attendance at games and continuing financial support throughout this and past seasons.

I would also like to thank the Triangle Sports Plex and the UNC ice hockey program for hosting our Tournament for a second consecutive year and without whose support and warm hospitality our return would not have been possible. Finally, the entire North Carolina Triangle Research and Academic community deserve special recognition and our heartfelt appreciation for its enthusiastic patronage of the ACCHL Championship Tournament.

We hope you will continue to enjoy the exciting brand of college hockey brought to you by the ACCHL and we look forward to your support in the future.

ACC Hockey League Championship Tournament Host, North Carolina University, has arranged for discounted motel rooms at the Hampton Inn, Chapel Hill NC for ACCHL teams at our End of Season Tournament beginning February 17th.
 

ACCHL-Tournament-Hotel-Information

The 2012 ACC Hockey League Championship Tournament will be hosted by the University of North Carolina.  The tournament will be played February 17-19 at the Triangle SportsPlex in Hillsborough, NC.

Congratulations Wolfpack!

NC State won the ACC Hockey League Championship Tournament, improving on their second place regular season finish.  NC State beat Maryland 6-5 in an overtime thriller. Maryland, the ACCHL regular season champions, with an 11-1 league record, had beaten NC State twice during the season.   NC State beat seventh seed Duke and third seed Georgetown to advance to the championship game against top seed Maryland.

Georgetown won the Bronze medal game against North Carolina 8-1.

Friday night, the ACCHL Championship Tournament kicked off in Hillsborough North Carolina.

• North Carolina State beat Duke 7-1
• North Carolina beat George Washington 9-4
• Georgetown beat Virginia 11-2

Regular season ACCHL champion Maryland had bye.

North Carolina will be broadcasting some of the tournament games online.  The games that will be broadcast are:

• Friday 2/18 at 10PM – Georgetown vs Virginia
• Saturday 2/19 at 9AM – Teams to be announced
• Sunday 2/20 8:30AM – Bronze medal game
• Sunday 2/20 11AM – Championship
