ACC Hockey League

ACC Teams are participating in a number of tournaments this season, including the ACHA Division 2 Showcase, the Battle of Virginia, the Spaikowski Memorial Tournament, the Canes Cup, the Red Raider Invitational, and the ACCHL Playoffs.

ACHA Showcase:  Invitational tournament featuring some of the best Division 2 hockey programs from around the nation.

• ACC Teams:  Georgetown and NC State
• Games:  Each team will play three games against the nation’s best D2 programs
• Dates:  10/17 to 10/19
• Location: Hershey, PA

Battle of Virginia:  Tournament featuring some of the best hockey programs in the state.

• ACC Teams:  Virginia and Virgnia Tech
• 10/31 Richmond vs. VA Commonweath and UVA vs Tech
• 11/1 UVA va tba and Tech vs tba
• Location: Skate Nation Plus

Sapikowski Memorial Tournament:  Annual tournament hosted by North Carolina in hornor of former coach Jim Sapikowski.

• 11/7 UNC vs Georgia Tech
• 11/8 UNC vs Old Dominion
• 11/9 UNC vs Appalacian State
• Location:  Triangle Sportsplex

Canes Cup:  Annual tournament hosted by NC State.

• ACC Teams:  NC State and Duke
• 1/16/09 Duke vs. Rowan and NCSU vs. UMBC
• 1/17/09 NCSU vs. Boston College and Duke vs. Kennesaw State
• 1/18/09 Duke vs. UMBC and NCSU vs. Kennesaw State
• Location:  Raleigh Rec Zone

Red Raider Invitational Tournament: Invitational Tournament in Texas

• ACC Teams:  Virginia Tech
• 1/29/09 Virginia Tech vs. Texas Tech
• 1/30/09 Virginia Tech vs. Northern Colorado
• 1/31/09 Virginia Tech vs. tba

ACC Playoffs:  Annual tournament for the ACC Hockey League – always a hard fought competition!

• ACC Teams:  Duke, Georgetown, NC State, UNC, Virginia, Virgina Tech
• Dates:  2/20/09 to 2/22/09
• Locaton: Roanoke Civic Center
